Caroline Sylger Jones is the author of Body & Soul Escapes (2007), a 500 page travel guidebook to healthy holidays, and its sister title, Body & Soul Escapes: Britain & Ireland (2009), both published by Footprint Books to high acclaim – Condé Nast Traveller did a double page spread all about her at the time, and the press were hugely generous about both books.
As print guidebooks, they are both out of date – if you want to find a retreat in the here and now, take a look at Caroline’s online incarnation of her books at queenofretreats.com.
Caroline has also hugely enjoyed travelling around the world to make contributions to other travel books including 1001 Escapes To Make Before You Die (Octopus Books), The Rough Guide to India (Penguin), Special Places to Stay in India (Alastair Sawdays), Explorer India (Fodors) and Further Traveller’s Tales from Heaven and Hell (Eye Books).
Praise for Body & Soul Escapes
‘Packed with advice that manages to be both sensible and inspirational’
Condé Nast Traveller
‘Full of snappy information, with no fluff, on where to get the spa effect you want at the price you want it’
‘Passionate and comprehensive – you’ll find places to visit that suit your budget, whether you have the bank balance of a Getty or no balance at all’
‘Caroline’s well-designed and lavishly illustrated book does an excellent job, with plenty of practical information and the sort of detailed reviews often missing in this kind of rather glossy guide. A good (and at times inspirational) reference source’
